UR-GE Project and Clustering Activities

The UR-GE (Supporting the Development of International Competitiveness) support yields the most effective results for companies when implemented with a project-based approach. Conducted with this understanding, our UR-GE Project was successfully completed under the “Communiqué on Supporting the Development of International Competitiveness” by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Trade, General Directorate of Export.

Throughout the completed project, the goals were to enable non-exporting companies to begin exporting and to help existing exporters increase their current capacities and competitive strength. The project was designed and implemented based on a clustering approach to ensure that SMEs could expand into international markets more effectively.

Companies involved in the UR-GE Project had the opportunity to benefit from training, consultancy, and joint activities. The primary works carried out during the project process are summarized below:

  • Needs Analysis was conducted.

  • Common problems faced by companies in areas such as exports, international market knowledge, management, and production processes were identified; solution proposals for the specified needs were developed.

  • Training and Consultancy Activities were carried out.

Within the scope of the project, training and consultancy services were provided to companies in the following areas:

  • Foreign Trade Management

  • International Marketing and E-Commerce

  • Branding, Innovation, and Clustering

  • Institutionalization and Human Resources Management

  • Quality, Productivity, Production, and Certification

  • Other sector-specific topics

Through these efforts, the following were achieved:

  • Ensuring accurate cost analysis and reducing costs through effective supply management,

  • Developing institutional capacity and technical competencies,

  • Identifying target markets and potential international buyers using professional methods,

  • Creating strategic roadmaps aimed at increasing the exports of the companies.

Although the UR-GE Project has been concluded, clustering activities continue in line with the cooperation culture and gains established during the project process. In this context, efforts are ongoing to strengthen cooperation between companies, maintain collective learning and development, and evaluate new opportunities for national and international markets. Our region remains committed to providing supportive activities aimed at the sustainable growth and international competitiveness of our companies.
