1. What is Personal Data?
Under the KVKK, personal data is defined as any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. Accordingly, your name, surname, date of birth, ID number, e-mail address, phone number, and similar information shared with us are categorized as personal data. Yalova collects your personal data directly when shared with us, through automated means, or via other sources such as third-party platforms.
2. What is the purpose and legal basis for processing your personal data?
Yalova collects and processes your personal information to fulfill our legal obligations arising from your product and service relationship with us and to inform you of campaigns and advantages. In this regard, Yalova processes your data to evaluate and handle complaints, process payments, improve our products, services, communication methods, and website functionality, and to provide personalized products, communication content, targeted advertisements, and product recommendations.
Yalova processes and stores your data for these purposes based on your explicit consent, or when it is directly related to the establishment or performance of a contract with you, or when required by our legitimate interests, provided it does not harm your fundamental rights and freedoms.
3. For what purpose and to whom do we transfer your personal data?
Your personal data may be shared with Yalova shareholders, our direct/indirect domestic or foreign subsidiaries, and domestic/foreign third parties and institutions that represent us and/or collaborate with us to conduct our activities (companies providing courier, shipment, call center, database, cloud services, etc.). Furthermore, personal data is shared with courts and other public institutions due to and limited by our legal obligations. Traffic information, such as your navigation data on Yalova websites, may be shared with public institutions and organizations legally authorized to request such information for security and the fulfillment of Yalova’s legislative obligations.
4. How do we store your personal data?
Personal data shared with our company is stored on Yalova’s secure domestic/international servers in accordance with relevant legal regulations, KVKK provisions, and Yalova standards. In this context, Yalova takes the necessary technical and administrative security measures determined by legislation to ensure the security of your personal data.
5. How long do we keep your personal data?
Pursuant to Article 7/f.1 of the KVKK, your personal data will be deleted, destroyed, or anonymized by us once the purpose requiring the processing of your data ceases to exist and/or the legal periods for which we are obliged to store your data under relevant legislation expire.
6. What are your rights under the Personal Data Protection Law?
Pursuant to Article 11 of the KVKK, to the extent that your personal data is processed by Yalova as the data controller, you have the right to:
Learn whether your personal data is being processed;
Request information regarding the processing activities;
Learn the purposes of the processing;
Know the third parties to whom data is transferred domestically or abroad;
Request correction if data is incomplete or incorrectly processed;
Request deletion or destruction of personal data if the reasons for processing no longer exist;
Request notification of correction or deletion to third parties to whom data has been transferred;
Object to negative consequences resulting from processing through automated systems;
Claim compensation for damages incurred due to unlawful processing.
Your requests will be finalized as soon as possible and at the latest within thirty days, depending on the nature of the request.
